Administration

The first account created during setup is an admin. Admins get an Admin area in Settings; everyone else sees the user-level tabs.

adminEverything, plus the Admin area.

Admins manage users in Admin → Users: create, delete, set role, reset password, change username, edit profile.

System prompts

Custom system prompts resolve in this order:

  1. .cptr/system.md in the workspace
  2. Per-model system_prompt (Admin → Chat / Models config)
  3. Global (*) system_prompt
  4. AI Labs' default prompt

Templates render {{VARIABLE}} placeholders. Available variables include WORKSPACE_NAME, WORKSPACE_PATH, FILE_TREE, INSTRUCTIONS, MEMORY, SKILLS, CPTR_CONTEXT, OS, PLATFORM, ARCH, SHELL, HOME, HOSTNAME, RUNTIME_ENV, CPTR_VERSION, DATE, and MODEL. {{MEMORY}} and {{SKILLS}} are appended automatically if omitted.

Signup

Signup is admin-toggled. When on, new sign-ups land as pending until an admin grants a role. Trusted-header sign-in is available for reverse-proxy setups — see Authentication.

Languages

The UI ships in 10 languages: English, Deutsch, Español, Français, Português (Brasil), Русский, 日本語, 한국어, 简体中文, 繁體中文. Your appearance and language choice follow you across devices.

Appearance

A dark, blue-accented theme with appearance controls in Settings → Appearance. Token-usage details, chat controls, and diff views all follow the chosen theme.
