Office Skills
Create, edit, and analyze Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and PDF files, and test web apps in a real browser, with AI Coding Agents (Hrida).
Office Skills is a small, focused marketplace of 5 skills grouped into 2 plugins. Each skill is plain markdown with bundled Python and Node helpers, so the agent produces real, correctly formatted files instead of describing them.
Plugins and skills
| Plugin | Skill | What it does | Typical use case |
|---|---|---|---|
| Document Skills | xlsx | Create, edit, clean, and recalculate spreadsheets (.xlsx, .xlsm, .csv, .tsv) | Turn a messy CSV export into a formatted workbook with formulas and charts |
| docx | Create and edit Word documents and templates, including tracked changes and comments | Draft a report or contract, or redline an existing one with tracked changes | |
| pptx | Build, read, and edit slide decks and templates | Build a pitch deck from notes, or update an existing company template | |
| Extract, merge, split, fill forms, OCR, and create PDFs | Pull tables out of invoices, fill a PDF form, or merge signed pages | ||
| Web App Testing | webapp-testing | Drive local web apps with Playwright: screenshots, DOM inspection, console logs | Verify a feature works end to end and capture what broke |
Installation
The hridaai-agent-skills marketplace ships with AI Coding Agents (Hrida) and is added automatically on first start, so you only need to install the plugins you want.
1. Check the marketplace
hrida-agent-sdk plugin marketplace listYou should see hridaai-agent-skills. If it is missing, add it from a local checkout or from GitHub:
hrida-agent-sdk plugin marketplace add Hrida-AI/office-skills2. Install a plugin
From your terminal:
hrida-agent-sdk plugin install document-skills@hridaai-agent-skills
hrida-agent-sdk plugin install webapp-testing@hridaai-agent-skillsOr inside a session:
/plugin install document-skills@hridaai-agent-skillsRun /plugin on its own to browse and install interactively. Add --scope project to share a plugin with everyone working in the repository, or --scope local to keep it to yourself in this repository only.
3. Install the helper tools
The skills call standard document tools on the machine where the agent runs. Install the ones for the skills you use:
| Skill | Python (pip) | Other tools |
|---|---|---|
| xlsx | openpyxl, pandas, markitdown | LibreOffice (soffice) for formula recalculation |
| docx | — | Node docx package, pandoc, LibreOffice, Poppler (pdftoppm) |
| pptx | markitdown[pptx], Pillow, defusedxml, lxml | Node pptxgenjs package, LibreOffice, Poppler (pdftoppm) |
pypdf, pdfplumber, reportlab, pytesseract, pdf2image | qpdf, Poppler (pdftotext), Tesseract for OCR | |
| webapp-testing | playwright | A Playwright browser: playwright install chromium |
The agent checks for these when a skill runs and installs a missing Python or Node package if an import fails. System tools such as LibreOffice, Poppler, qpdf, and Tesseract must be installed by you or your administrator.
4. Manage plugins
| Task | Command |
|---|---|
| List or manage installed plugins | /plugin manage |
| Disable or re-enable a plugin | /plugin disable <plugin> · /plugin enable <plugin> |
| Uninstall a plugin | /plugin uninstall <plugin> |
| Get the latest skills | /plugin marketplace update hridaai-agent-skills |
| Reload after changes | /reload-plugins |
Using the skills
- Automatic. Mention the file or the deliverable ("clean up
sales.xlsx", "make a 10-slide deck from these notes") and the matching skill loads on its own. - On demand. Call a skill directly as
/<plugin>:<skill>, for example/document-skills:pptxor/webapp-testing:webapp-testing. - Files in, files out. Attach or point to your files; the agent writes the finished file next to them and checks it before handing it back.
