AI Coding Agents
Mainframe and EDI migration experts: legacy code to modern platforms.
AI Coding Agents (Hrida) specialize in legacy modernization: migrating mainframe applications and EDI systems to cloud-native services and APIs. They map business rules, convert code and data, and prove functional equivalence with automated tests, all inside your own infrastructure.
What it does
| Area | Coverage |
|---|---|
| Mainframe migration | COBOL, PL/I, JCL, CICS, DB2, and VSAM to Java, .NET, or cloud-native services |
| EDI modernization | X12, EDIFACT, and AS2 flows to modern APIs and event-driven integrations |
| Business-rule extraction | Documents the rules buried in decades-old code as readable specifications |
| Functional equivalence | Parallel-run testing that proves the new system matches the old one before cutover |
How a migration runs
- Analyze. The agent indexes the legacy codebase (programs, copybooks, JCL, and data definitions) and maps dependencies.
- Extract rules. Business logic is documented as specifications your team can review.
- Convert. Code and data structures are translated to the target platform, with EDI flows rebuilt as APIs.
- Test. Automated tests and parallel runs compare outputs between the old and new systems.
- Hand over. Changes arrive as reviewed pull requests, ready for your release process.
Use cases
- Banking and insurance: move core COBOL batch and CICS transactions off the mainframe.
- Logistics and retail: replace X12 or EDIFACT pipelines with APIs your partners can call directly.
- Healthcare: modernize claims processing (for example X12 837 and 835) without losing business rules.
- Any legacy estate: document undocumented systems before staff with that knowledge retire.
