Voice & Call
Two global shortcuts that reach your AI by voice from anywhere on the system.
Voice input (push-to-talk)
Press the voice shortcut — Shift+Cmd+Space / Shift+Ctrl+Space by default — from any application. A small recording widget appears with a live waveform. Press the shortcut again (or click stop) to finish.
What happens then:
- The recording is sent to your default connection's speech-to-text endpoint (
/api/v1/audio/transcriptions). - The transcribed text is delivered straight into your chat, the same way a Spotlight message is.
- The main window comes forward with the message in place.
| Setting | Location |

| Enable / disable voice input | Settings → General → Voice input |
| Shortcut | Settings → General → Voice input shortcut |
| Microphone permission | Requested on first use (macOS / Windows). |
Transcription runs on the connected Hrida.ai server. That server must have Speech-to-Text configured, and you must be signed in to the connection. If not, the widget shows an error.
Call
Press the Call shortcut — Shift+Cmd+C / Shift+Ctrl+C by default — to jump straight into a voice call with your AI on the default connection. The main window opens and starts the call experience in the connected Hrida.ai UI.

| Enable / disable Call | Settings → General → Call |
| Shortcut | Settings → General → Call shortcut |
Audio cues
The app plays a short chime when recording starts and stops so you know the mic state without looking.
