Updates
AI Workstation updates itself in the background.
How it works
- When packaged, the app checks for a new release on launch and every 6 hours after.
- A new version downloads only after you confirm (auto-download is off), then installs on the next quit — or immediately if you choose Restart to update.
- Settings → About shows the current desktop version, the bundled component versions (Hrida AI Studio, Hrida Terminal, llama.cpp), your platform, and the update state (up to date / version available / downloading % / ready to install) with Check for updates, Download update, and Restart to update actions.
- If the About panel is opened mid-download, it seeds from the cached updater state instead of showing a stale "Check for updates".
The update proxy
The desktop repository is private, so electron-updater can't read its release assets anonymously. Instead the app is pointed at a small Cloudflare Worker (update-proxy/) that holds a read-only GitHub token server-side and streams release assets through, including HTTP Range requests for delta updates.
Optionally the Worker can be deployed with an UPDATE_LICENSE secret; builds then send a matching X-Hrida-License header (set at build time via MAIN_VITE_UPDATE_LICENSE). This is a shared endpoint secret, not per-user licensing. Full setup — Cloudflare account, fine-grained PAT, releases, testing — is in the project's docs/auto-update.md.
Component updates
The bundled server, Hrida Terminal, and llama.cpp engine update independently of the app shell, each from its own Settings panel (with optional auto-update for the server).
