Bundled Hrida Terminal
The desktop app ships the Hrida Terminal server as a bundled component. Enable it and the connected Hrida.ai UI gets a local sandboxed environment to run code in — no separate install. Managed from Settings → Open Terminal.
Install & enable
Like the local server, Hrida Terminal installs from a bundled wheel (hrida-terminal) using the app's managed Python runtime. The panel shows an Install button when it isn't present yet.
Controls
| Control | Effect |
|---|---|
| Start / Stop / Restart | Manage the Terminal server process. Status shows running / stopped and the version. |
| Start on launch | Launch the Terminal server automatically when the app opens. |
| Port | Which port the Terminal server binds. |
| Working directory | The root directory sessions start in — browse to a folder or type a path. |
| API key | Auto-generated on first run; copy it from the running-instance panel to point a client at this Terminal server. |
| Update | Update the bundled hrida-terminal package. |
| Uninstall | Remove the package (confirmation required). |
Logs and a PTY view are available in-app.
How it's used
Once running, Hrida Terminal is reachable at http://localhost:<port> with the generated API key. The connected Hrida AI Studio instance uses it as its tool-execution backend, so chat can run commands, edit files, and execute code inside that working directory.
